OPEN POSITIONS

SERVER (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME)

Cedar Ridge is seeking knowledgeable, outgoing, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time and/or full-time Servers.

Cedar Ridge is not only a bar that serves craft cocktails with Iowa-Made spirits, we are also a restaurant, event center, visitor center, winery, and distillery. The hospitality staff holds a key role in the guest experience by representing each of these areas that live under one roof. From our spirits to our team members we aim to provide our guests with an Authentic by Nature experience when they visit Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery.

Responsibilities:

  • Be knowledgeable about Cedar Ridge’s Mission and Vision as an establishment.
  • Ensuring tables are clean and presentable upon the Guest’s arrival and throughout service.
  • Effectively and efficiently place and deliver orders.
  • Be present and attentive to all restaurant guests during service.
  • Learn and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Cedar Ridge products, along with food and beverage menus.
  • Providing a pleasant experience for not just the tables they are assigned, but the entire restaurant as a whole.
  • Work in a quick and efficient manner.
  • Effectively communicate and work well with both team members and management.
  • Maintain a polite, approachable, and friendly attitude at all times.
  • Provide high-quality service to maintain Cedar Ridge’s regular clientele, while also creating new ones.

BARTENDER (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME)

Cedar Ridge is seeking knowledgeable, outgoing, and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as part-time and/or full-time bartenders. Availability must include holidays, nights, and weekends.

Cedar Ridge is not only a bar that serves craft cocktails with Iowa-Made spirits, we are also a restaurant, event center, visitor center, winery, and distillery. The staff holds a key role in the guest experience by representing each of these areas that live under one roof. From our spirits to our team members we aim to provide our guests with an Authentic by Nature experience when they visit Cedar Ridge Winery and Distillery.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests.
  • Visible behind the bar at all times to assist both guests and team members.
  • Be courteous, understanding, and helpful to all guests and team members.
  • Effectively communicate and work well with both team members and management.
  • Follow all opening and closing procedures in a timely manner.
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of all menu items. Including food, beverage, spirits/wines, and retail.
  • Provide responsible service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Keep all stemware, bar equipment, and bar areas clean both during and after service.
  • Be knowledgeable about Cedar Ridge’s Mission and Vision.
  • Demonstrate excellent time management and multi-tasking skills.
  • Have a base knowledge of spirits and wine with a desire to learn more.
  • Assess customer needs and preferences and make recommendations accordingly.
  • Previous bartending experience is preferred, but not required.

EVENT COORDINATOR

The Event Coordinator will report directly to the Event Manager. Responsible for planning, designing, organizing, and coordinating Cedar Ridge Vineyard room events. Assist Event Manager in planning weddings, receptions, festivals, and other private events to grow and maximize Cedar Ridge’s venue resulting in increased sales & profits.

Primary Objectives and Key Result Areas:

This position will be successfully fulfilling requirements when:

  • Events are set up to Cedar Ridge and the client’s expectations.
  • Events are carried out to Cedar Ridge standards.
  • Events are on time.
  • Event labor is used efficiently.
  • We go above and beyond the client’s expectations for the event.
  • The event is closed out to Cedar Ridge standards.

Ongoing Event Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist Event Manager as directed.
  • Effectively communicate with clients by responding to emails and voicemails within the company’s 24-hour policy.
  • Effectively communicate event specifics to kitchen and FOH staff.
  • Meet all communications deadlines
  • Any/all other meetings as requested by client
  • Manage event staff and operations.
  • Manage cleanliness, setup, and breakdown of event spaces.
  • Work MOD shifts as scheduled
  • Ensure all Cedar Ridge SOPs are followed
  • Any other duties as assigned or directed by upper management

BUSSER (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME)

Bussers support the Cedar Ridge Tasting Room team throughout service. A Busser takes used plates, cups, cutlery, and other utensils at restaurants to the kitchen for washing. They also wipe down tables, restock cutlery and paper towels and ensure that tables are ready for the next customer to use. Bussers also assist waitstaff by bringing out food and drink orders and refilling empty water glasses.

Bussers are important to the running of a restaurant because they keep the dining tables clean and presentable. They also pay close attention to diners and inform the waitstaff when anyone needs something or they attend to it themselves. This excellent service keeps diners coming back.

SOUS CHEF

Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef and will be responsible for daily kitchen duties related to lunch and dinner service, Sunday brunch, as well as assisting with banquets/ events when needed. Responsible for opening and closing restaurant operations. 35-40 hours per week. *Earn tips and gratuity on events in addition to base pay. A more extensive benefits package is available for full-time employees.

COOK (FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME)

Full-time or part-time cook position would involve daily prepping and cooking of wood-fired pizzas, charcuterie boards, other shareable dishes, and also assists in the execution of private events as needed. 20-40 hours per week available. Position reports to Sous Chef and Executive Chef on daily operations and events. *Earn tips and gratuity on events in addition to base pay. A more extensive benefits package is available for full-time employees.
