    Lucrezio

1-4pmSUMMERFEST MUSICInnovative. Vigorous. Sincere. LUCREZIO offers a presence that, on the stage, is unforgettably stimulating with a lyrical passion that is emotionally engaging, and off stage, humanly genuine. In the spring of 2011, LUCREZIO put out a full band project, Storybook, which brought a sound not only musically driving, but lyrically piercing. Emoting not just a feeling of escape, but a movement of time. LUCREZIO’s focused pursuit in the ever changing world of independent music is this: “If when we play the heart of the individual is touched, if we can speak words that resound with familiarity, if we can make people feel alive and drive them to search for more than what they know, then the music has spoken and we have done what we were born to do."

    Dogs on Skis

    6-9pm

    Event Center

Dogs on Skis formed in the mid 1980’s playing covers of classic rock.  The band gained popularity in and around Iowa City/Cedar Rapids by focusing on playing songs that people liked to dance to.  From the beginning, focus was put on the band’s ability to perform material with vocal harmonies.  Those large outdoor shows were one of the main reasons their popularity grew in the early 90’s and that trend continues today with the advent of wineries and breweries featuring live outside music during the warmer months.

Over the years, the band continued to grow and mature. Instead of becoming complacent and content with where they were, they continually overhaul their 4 hour set of material based on crowd reaction and requests. Because of this, they can perform literally hundreds of songs and can play many of them as requested. Currently, they focus on modern and 80’s rock and material that exploit their strengths.

    BillyLee Janey

6-9pmGuitarist, songwriter, performer. Billylee has been compared to such greats as Clapton, Beck, and Hendrix. Even though these guitar heroes have been an inspiration to him, Billylee's own soulful and passionate love for music clearly and creatively sets him apart, giving him his own unique style and personality. Recently, Janey received nominations by the Iowa Rock and Roll and Blues Halls of Fame. In 2000, Billylee received a Grammy entry mention. While he is staying busy these days with performances, recordings and many a late night writing and composing, Billylee hasn't forgotten what this is all about for him. "I want to share with people what I feel in my heart, continue to give something new to the people who support live music and challenge myself."

    Esme

6-9pmI am a singer/songwriter originating from the Mississippi backwaters and bluffs of Green Island, IA. I've been performing since age 17, and started out as a vocalist and eventually bassist with the band Stoneheart, which covered artists such as Bob Dylan, The Band, The Grateful Dead, and Neil Young. After about 11 years with Stoneheart, I started focusing more on songwriting. I began playing out here and there as a solo acoustic artist, and have been lucky enough to perform original sets at The Redstone Room in Davenport and Rozz Tox in Rock Island, as well as being featured twice in the local variety show, The Bucktown Revue. I am excited to begin recording a full album in April, 2012, and plan to have it released in the next few months, so please check back for updates on its progress.

    Jasmine

    6-9pm

    Event Center

What happens when you combine four decades of songs and marriage between two people who separately are hilarious but together are nothing short of magic? You get a good time. Musically, Jasmine (Chris and Laura Swiser) can do it all. They know songs from every decade and genre. Chris said it best when he said, “We do songs that people know the words to.” Their two-person band (which often features guest performers) can put out the sound and energy of a rock concert.  .  Never have there been more loyal fans than at a Jasmine gig. They say you can judge a person by the friends they attract and the same can be said of Jasmine.

    Anji Kat Trio

6-9pmAnji Kat has been on the Iowa Corridor music scene for almost 2 years now and is quickly garnering accolades in her vocal talents and her songwriting. Often compared to Eva Cassidy, Linda Ronstadt and Sara Bareillis to name a few, she has an amazing command of her beautiful and dynamic voice, and loves to interpret songs from many genres and eras. She has been known to throw in some 70's rock with blues, jazz and some popular music, including Lady Gaga (just to shake things up a bit).
